We’ve been friends since preschool.
She’s basically a sister.
So we call her Aunty Katie.
My kids once asked me - “Is Aunty Katie really your sister mama?”
“Yes child. And these are your cousins.”
So cousins do what cousins do.
Nerf wars on summer days.
Fully immersed.
Organized caches.
Eye protection on.
Alliances made.
Sniper positions claimed.
The girls bail out first.
The boys could play forever.
The littles mess with the ammo and get in the way of the ambush.
But Adventure Awaits.
